Beauty of Being Born is a Doula service located in Northeastern Ohio that was founded by sisters Jessica Baron and Stephanie Oriani. After the birth of our children it became apparent there was a definite need to improve the care provided to women during their perinatal quest. So many people ask, what is a Doula? A Doula provides guidance and support to the mother and/or partner through pregnancy, labor and delivery. Our mission is to provide you with the resources and tools necessary in order to have the birth you are envisioning. We are here to support ALL birth plans and will be there for you throughout your entire journey. 

Jessica and Stephanie have both completed professional training through DONA International, the leader in evidence based Doula Training, Certification, and Continuing Education. 

Self advocacy is a big part of the birthing process, we promote this skill and provide guidance along the way. Studies have shown that having a Doula decreases the c-section rate by 50% - the length of labor by 25% - the use of Oxytocin by 40% - and the requests for an epidural by 60%.

In 2017, the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists reaffirmed their position on continuous labor support, such as that provided by Doulas, stating: "Evidence suggests that, in addition to regular nursing care, continuous one-on-one support provided by support personnel, such as a Doula, is associated with improved outcomes for women in labor. Benefits found in randomized trials include: shortened labor, decreased need for analgesia, fewer operative deliveries, and fewer reports of dissatisfaction with the experience of labor."
